Mahindra XEV 9e Beats Tata Harrier EV With These 5 Futuristic Features

India’s electric SUV segment is about to get more exciting. Mahindra and Tata — two of the biggest names in the auto industry — are preparing to launch their next-gen electric vehicles: the Mahindra XEV 9e and the 2025 Tata Harrier EV. Both promise innovation, power, and smart features tailored for Indian consumers.

But Mahindra seems to be pushing the boundaries a bit further. With the XEV 9e, Mahindra has introduced 5 futuristic features that give it a clear edge over Tata’s Harrier EV. Let’s take a closer look.

Next-Gen INGLO Platform

The Mahindra XEV 9e is built on the company’s new INGLO platform — a modular electric architecture that supports faster charging, better thermal management, and a longer range. It’s capable of ultra-fast charging up to 175 kW, meaning you can juice up the battery from 0 to 80% in under 30 minutes.

In comparison, Tata’s Ziptron platform (used in the Harrier EV) is a generation behind in terms of charging speed and battery tech.

Dual Curved Displays for a Futuristic Cabin

Mahindra takes the lead in cabin tech with two large curved screens that seamlessly blend the instrument cluster and infotainment system. This dual-screen setup offers a sleek, immersive, and premium experience for both the driver and passengers.

The Harrier EV is expected to get a single floating touchscreen, which, while functional, feels less futuristic than what Mahindra offers.

AI-Powered Smart Assistant

The XEV 9e introduces an AI-based voice assistant that adapts to user preferences. It can recognize natural voice commands, learn driver behavior, and offer personalized suggestions — like adjusting climate settings, recommending nearby charging stations, or setting navigation routes automatically.

Tata’s Harrier EV is not expected to include this level of smart assistant technology at launch.

Enhanced Level-2+ ADAS

Safety and automation go hand in hand in the XEV 9e. Mahindra is likely to include Level-2+ ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, and auto emergency braking.

While Tata offers ADAS in some of its higher trims, Mahindra’s implementation is expected to be more comprehensive and future-ready.

5G-Enabled Connectivity Suite

Mahindra is stepping into the future with 5G-based connected car tech, giving users real-time navigation, live traffic updates, smart diagnostics, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. This feature turns the XEV 9e into a truly smart car.

Tata’s connected features are mostly 4G-based and may lack the responsiveness and update flexibility that 5G offers.

Mahindra Pulls Ahead in the EV Race

The Tata Harrier EV is no doubt a strong contender with Tata’s proven reliability and performance. But when it comes to design, technology, connectivity, and smart features, the Mahindra XEV 9e leads the way.

If you’re looking for a futuristic, connected, and premium electric SUV in 2025, the XEV 9e could very well be the smartest buy in its class.
